What to test before you launch a new app or website
A launch date creates pressure to skip testing. Here's the minimum you shouldn't skip, even under time pressure.
Test the paths customers actually use
You don't need to test every possible click before launch — you need to test the two or three journeys that matter most: signing up, paying, or submitting a request. Get those solid before worrying about edge cases.
Test on a slow connection, not just your office Wi-Fi
Many Nigerian users are on mobile data, not fibre. A page that loads instantly in your office can time out or break on a slower connection — and you won't find that out unless you specifically test for it.
Test what happens when things go wrong
A failed payment, a dropped connection mid-form, a wrong password three times in a row — these happen constantly in real use. Check that your product fails gracefully, not with a blank screen or lost data.
Re-test after every fix
Fixing one bug can quietly introduce another. A quick pass over the core journeys after each round of fixes catches this before your customers do.
